Temporary email not receiving messages? Causes and fixes

Updated October 7, 2026

You entered your EmailPuff address on a website, asked for a code, and the inbox is still empty. Here are the most common causes, in the order worth checking.

1. The address was mistyped

One wrong character sends the message to a different inbox. Always use the Copy button instead of typing, and compare the address on the website with the one shown on EmailPuff. The domain must match too: mail sent to sam@domain-a will not show up while you are viewing sam@domain-b.

2. The website blocks temporary email domains

Many sites reject the address immediately, but some say "code sent" and then quietly send nothing. Pick a different domain from the @ menu and try again. The current list is in New domains on EmailPuff.

3. The website sends slowly

Some services queue verification emails and send them a few minutes later. Keep the EmailPuff tab open and wait 2-3 minutes before pressing "resend code". Pressing resend over and over can make some sites temporarily stop sending codes.

4. The message has expired

Messages on EmailPuff delete themselves after about 1 hour. If you come back later than that, older mail will be gone. Ask the website to send it again.

5. The message is too large

Messages with heavy attachments (roughly over 2 MB) may be dropped. Ordinary verification emails are tiny, so this is rare.

6. The domain is under maintenance

Check the domain status table. If your domain is under maintenance, switch to another one.

7. EmailPuff lost its connection

Look at the status badge under the email address. A red dot with Offline means your connection is unstable. Reload the page; your address will be kept.
